I got an update from Tony Nielsen, Park Development:
We will be kicking off the construction of the Wilson-Carmel Park Phase I project in a couple of weeks. This park is not officially named yet (“Flower Mound Gardens” was not approved). The park infrastructure should take around 12 months to complete. We anticipate building the playground right after Phase I is complete. See the attached images for the general direction we are headed. Our goals for the playground are relatively the same as always: to create an accessible nature learning playground that is special and unique for our region. We hope to kick off the design effort for this Leathers style playground sometime this Fall/Winter 2011.So the land development and construction has to take place first then finally the playground construction can begin!
